“The Pale Blue Eye” is a 2022 murder mystery and thriller film. Gruesome murders are occurring among cadets at West Point. Hired to solve the mystery is Augustus Landor, played by Christian Bale. But there is also a famous personage attending the military academy: Edgar Allan Poe, portrayed by Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films). Poe, the inventor of the detective tale, uses all his powers of deduction and logical reasoning to solve the case, surpassing Landor’s talents (and therein lies a secret).
